So I just wanna start off by saying that I love the Avatar series. Avatar: The Last Airbender was one of my favorite shows but for some reason I just never got around to doing any art based on it...or at least finishing any. I've done random sketches of Katara and Toph but that's about it. But now with Legend of Korra, the series has just gotten way too awesome to not finish one of my drawings! I love Korra and Amon is just all kinds of badass! I hope you guys like it!
...also, I know Korra can't air bend yet (even though I drew her doing it) but something tells me she's going to have to become a fully realized Avatar in order to defeat Amon and his Equalists.
UPDATE: This illustration is going to be part of the Legend of Korra art show, "I'm the Art Show, Deal With It!" that opens March 23! This is the first gallery art show I've ever contributed to and I can't even express how excited I am to be a part of it. If you want to learn more about the show, check out the Pixel Drip Website [link] as well as the Facebook Event Page [link]
Main message: this is awesome. One small note, though, if that's okay... I love the movement of the water and the rock, as though she had bent both with one smooth motion of her leg. THAT's awesome. However, the fire isn't bursting out from the bottom of her foot like it would in "real life." It's coming out from the side, which doesn't make any sense, except maybe for aesthetics. Perhaps she could be breathing flame instead? That'd reveal more of her face, look really awesome, and still stay with how bending works in the show. Alternatively, she could be blowing a spiral gust/blast of wind and throwing flame with the arm that's currently bending air.
I really don't mean to be nosy, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way. I really am just offering up some ideas, and you can do with them what you will.
